Melissa decided in October of 2004 to enroll in classes at Cosmetology Careers Unlimited for Nail Technology, then in September of 2009 she followed up with Aesthetician school at International School of Beauty both located in Portland, Oregon. She directly followed that with a Certification in body wraps.
Since acrylic nails and pedicures are Melissa’s passion and she needed to build a clientele, she created a mobile manicure and pedicure service. In the beginning, her clients were mostly elderly people in foster care homes, bridal parties and ladies spa nights. At that same time, she took a position in a salon that had high traffic interested in Melissa’s acrylic services enabling her to establish returning clients.
At Sparkle Beauty Bar, the kind of experience that Melissa likes to provide is relaxing and fun for her clients in an atmosphere that is clean, comfortable and friendly. She strives to make it a spa experience more than a just a salon experience. Making someone feel pampered, and better about themselves. When you walk in, you are treated special and when you walk out, the services she has provided for you makes you feel great about yourself all day.
Whether it’s something for yourself or a gift from another, Melissa wants you to feel satisfied that your money has been well spent.Some of Melissa’s favorite parts of this profession are that she gets to see her clients often and hear their life stories, which are so interesting and help her be more aware of life’s gifts and diversities.
Melissa believes in taking an honest approach with all aspects of her profession and tries to offer solutions to her clients without embarrassment. Especially when dealing with hand and feet health issues. Providing services personally designed for each client.
Since Melissa is the Owner of Sparkle Beauty Bar, she has the task of providing and maintaining a productive working environment for her stylists and technicians.
Shawnta chose to start her training at Phagan’s Beauty School. She attended from October on 2010 to May of 2011.
Charity graduated from the Esthetics program at the Aveda Institute Portland in January 2011.Charity is happiest when she is serving others. She is dedicated to making every spa experience wonderful. Her first love is facials and the facial massage but also enjoys waxing. Life can be stressful and in the fast pace we all live in, she is privileged to help people relax and feel pampered while helping them improve their skin.
She believes taking time for yourself, helps you do better and live a healthier life.
Charity also has a passion for learning and plans to take several advanced training classes to be able to meet all of her clients skincare needs.
